After a LOT of hours in buses, always refusing tuk tuk drivers to bring us somewhere, walking a lot to catch the other bus etc... We arrived in Surat Thani where we were planning to catch direclty a ferry to go to Kho Phangan. On the lonely they say to be carefull about the people trying to sell you ticket on the street so we wanted to go directly to the boat companies. We wanted to catch a night boat. After walking A LOOOT, we found the night boats, but it was more like food/animals boats than ferries, and it was 7 hours by night in a none very secure boat (it seemed to be)... No way ! We didn't really know where to go. We asked to a book shop man, who wrote us in Thai the adress to give to a Tuk Tuk driver. So we took a tuk tuk thinking that he couldn't make a mistake. I drove a lot, in areas not in the city centre... we were a little bit worried. Then he stopped and shown us a building wich was absolutly not a travel agency. Actually he didn't know where to go. Then he asked to others Tuk tuk drivers, and they told us it was out of the city, that we had to pay him first for bringing us in the middle of nowhere, and then the others drivers will bring us to the right place.... NO WAY !!! We were lost and didn't want to come here, we wanted to go back at the beginning and without paying anything. At the end we've been out of the Tuk Tuk because they wanted us to pay... We paid nothing !!! We were lost and asked in a small shop what to do now. We were exhausted and decided to find a hotel to sleep. The woman at the shop was really nice, we shown her wich hotel we wanted to go, she stopped an other Tuk Tuk driver and told him in Thai where we wanted to go. So we've been to the hotel, really nice one and really cheap with a clean bathroom !!!! And we booked the ferry there for tomorrow morning. What a day !!!!!!

By walking we saw that there was like a festival, so before to go to bed we've been to see that. It was the Katine festival, with monks everywhere, putting water on every people who were going around. There was lot of bowls with bracelets. We ate at a pizza shop, and the woman explained us how it was working. They buy a lot of bracelet for 1Bath each (really cheaps... 30B=1AU$), then they give to people they like for good luck, and she gave us 2 each !!!! That's really nice !!!! So we bought a lot, talked with monks and local people. There was not a lot of travellers like us, it was nice, people were happy to see us participating.

Après beaucoup d'heures en bus, à refuser les chauffeurs de tuk tuk, marcher pour attraper un autre bus, écouter les karaoke thai etc... Nous voici à Surat Thani où nous avions prévu de prendre directement un ferry pour Kho Phangan... Sur le Lonely Planet ils disent de se méfier des gens qui vendent directement les tickets dans la rue. Donc on a voulu trouvé direct les bateaux de nuit. On a tourner un bon moment et finalement on s'est appreçu que les bateaux de nuits sont des genresr de bateaux de cargaison un peu répugnants, qui partent super super tard et mettent 7h pour y aller. On demande à un libraire qui nous note l'adresse d'une agence de voyage où aller, tout ça en Thai pour directement donner au chauffeur de Tuk Tuk pour pas qu'il se trompe. Ok on prend le Tuk Tuk pour la première fois. Le gars tourne un bon moment et s'éloigne de la ville. Puis il s'arrête et nous montre un grand batiment qui n'a rien à voir avec une pauvre petite agence de voyage thailandaise... LA GALERE !!! Puis il demande à des collègues et l'un d'eux nous dit que c'est dans super loin de la ville, qu'il nous y amène mais qu'on doit d'abord payer son collègue!!! Ils se foutent de nous ou quoi??? Nous on voulait qu'ils nous ramènent au point de départ sans rien payer du tout. Pas moyen de se mettre d'accord, donc on s'est tiré du Tuk Tuk sans rien payé, et on était complètement perdues. On se réfugie dans un tout petit magasin et on explique notre cas et en fait on décide d'aller dans un hotel car ras la casquette!!! La jeune dame va voir sa voisine, arrête un nouveau Tuk Tuk, explique au chauffeur exactement où on veut aller et enfin on attéri dans l'hotel, pas cher et très propre. On se jette dans la salle de bain !!! En plus on a même pu booker le ferry pour le lendemain matin, donc parfait.

Avant de se coucher on est allé faire un tour dans un festival de moines, le Katine. Il y avait plein de chars décorés avec des moines dessus qui prennaient un malin plaisir à bénir tous les passants. C'était super drôle. On a mangé dans une pizzeria où la dame nous a expliqué comment ça marchait. Autour de chaque char il y avait des bols avec plein de bracelets tout autour. Et en fait les gens en prennent plein et font dont de 1Bath (soit beaucoup moins de 1€), puis ils les offrent comme porte bonheur. Du coup on en a pris plein plein, on a discuté avec quelques moines qui parlaient anglais et qui étaient ravis de papoter sur le festival, nous expliquer un peu, sur nous, etc... Il n'y avait pas beaucoup de touristes et les gens paraissaient contents de nous voir participer comme ça, c'était rigolo.
